Why nominee cut-offs look so high
A provincial nomination adds 600 points to a candidate's score. A cut-off of 734 means the last person invited had a base score of about 134 before the nomination. In practice, almost everyone with a nomination is invited within a few rounds, so the number matters far less than getting the nomination in the first place.
